FROM the STUDIO of JULIE JANZEN
Nature has always been a source of inspiration for me. Not only for my art, but also for my spiritual well being. To sit quietly and observe nature has always given me a feeling of tranquility and peace of mind.
Three important tools: painting on location, use of photographs, and painting from the model are used for the production of my work. To paint directly from nature is the ultimate, but is not always possible, so I will work from my own photographs. Painting directly from the human form also has a direct effect on every aspect of my work. From brush strokes, to form, color and composition.
Because nature has always given me a “peace of mind,” to create a landscape with that feeling of tranquility and beauty, as well as an interesting composition, is my ultimate goal. I want the viewers to be drawn into my work as though they are a part of that landscape, just as I am.
